If each team hasn't played each other, then that tie breaker is skipped and you move to the next one. As of now, BYU would have presumably a lesser win percentage within conference of the team it played than KSU and ISU have for the teams they played, so they would get in and BYU would be out for ultimately having played and beat the lesser in-conference competition.
