It's not really a big deal, but using every bit of energy for the game
might make some small difference at the end of a game. I hardly ever see other teams helping up BYU players and it's not because they are not good sportsmen or not kind people it's because they are using there energy for the game and to help up their own players so those players don't have to exert excess energy. It may sound ridiculous but why exert any excess energy by not only helping your players up but the other team's players too.

You can show your respect for your opponent at the end of the game with a handshake and kind words.
