At any of our jobs, if the Board of Directors saw the CEO consistently blame all bad things on a series of CFOs, after a while they'd determine that the CEO is the problem--either he/she is hamstringing/interfering with the CFOs (rendering them unable to have success) or incapable of hiring a competant person for the position.
