We could. But it doesn’t have to be disappointing. Many can separate hope and excitement from “expectation”, and then
there isn’t much disappointment when we lose, but more joy and optimism beforehand.

It’s nice if you can have the best of both worlds (optimism in hope and realism in expectation) but some don’t seem to do that easily, or want to.

We still probably won’t win out or make the playoff, but I hope we do and am excited at the prospect.

If we don’t, I’ll be OK with that and I’m pumped about how great the season has been so far.
