If you tie fandom of byu to piety
Then it’s easier to see why some feel that if you choose to not believe in the church that suddenly it’s hard for you to also be a byu athletics fan.
Of course that’s a ridiculous notion. Ppl can be fans of the athletics and not believe in the religion. It happens every day.
