The last 10 years have been ugly. Close games for the most part with BYU giving away pick-6s and other stupidity that led to losses. The last game was incredible because the offense dominated the line and Zach Wilson led the team to a win.
The great hope for this season is that Coach Hill has the defense ready to take advantage for Utah's horrible QB situation to force turnovers and keep the offense safe from itself. Retzlaff can't throw interceptions against Utah because they feed of it and that kind of momentum has been BYU's undoing.
Your point is completely accurate. BYU players need to stay disciplined, motivated and play each game one at a time. This season could be special if they do and they stay lucky. A 9-3 season with a win over Utah would be incredible. So far beyond anything I imagined and would do big things to give the coaching staff tools to recruit with.
Utah looks weak....and they are unless they are playing BYU. A sound thrashing by BYU maybe sends Whitt into retirement and that would be awesome.
