My nephew crashed his mom’s Range Rover when he was 15. The other driver was cool enough to not report it but it cost my
sister and BIL around 20k for both vehicles to be fixed.

Nephew then got in two fender benders as a licensed driver and then totaled his car last month.

The problem? My nephew can do no wrong in his parents eyes. He’s never to blame and if anyone ever does blame him then it’s cause they are a jerk. He also enjoys driving fast and reckless.

Unless something changes, he’s going to get himself or others killed.

My soon to be 16 yr old knows if I catch him speeding or driving irresponsibly then his privileges are taken away. Driving is a privilege and not a right — if young people can’t handle it then it’s really simple — take it away until they are ready to keep our community roads safe.
