SLC hasn’t had rain since early am. Hopefully the field will dry out.

No. They don't cover the field, but there is an elaborate drainage system.

Well it’s a specialized sand-based root zone with a perched water table.

I think the slipping last year was mostly due to the age of the turf

This. The issue last year was due to how bluegrass roots clump over time. You need to replace bluegrass
