Gundy has reversed his teams’ fortunes in the middle of a season before. He has a week to prepare for BYU.
BYU players and coaches have been saying the right things, but it’s apparently how much they’re basically like the rest of us when it comes to knowing what’s being said about the team. The hype is building, and it’s not helpful. I’m having 2021 vibes over this one. Human nature, in a lot of ways, could easily turn a game like this into a BYU Waterloo.
All that said, it’s also an outstanding chance for BYU to put its foot in the ground yet again and show the country how much better we are this year. There are challenges for OSU too. Here’s hoping a BYU that is still improving can exploit those en route to a 2-score win. I’ll be freezing, and cheering, my head off Friday at LES hoping to see that happen.
