First time I ever went was at their original NYC location before they expanded all over the place. After waiting in a giant line I was very underwhelmed. Every time I went after that I felt like it was a huge rip-off. I used to say exactly what you said here. Living in a place where it is everywhere, it has grown on me. I actually think it's a really good burger, it's just overpriced. But after covid a lot of the competing options have caught up to them in price. Been to Five Guys lately?

I think their crinkle cut fries with cheese sauce are the best fast food fries. Their chicken sandwich as someone else mentioned is sneaky good. So I happily go to Shake shack now. Yes, it's overpriced, but I do occasionally crave it.
