If anyone is sincerely interested, I'm only aware of two technical fields that have that earning potential. There may be more that I don't know about. The ones I know right now relate to AI/ML and HFTs. Some roles combine AI and HFT.

The hours at this company were long-ish without being crazy. 45-50 hours/ week is pretty standard. It would have been mitigated by the fact that I can do the work from anywhere. It also helps that there are long periods of time where I'm just baby sitting long computer processes. This allows me to do other things like make dinner while the computer is churning.

I can do work from the pool while my kids are doing swim team practice. Things like that. I like what I do a lot and there have only been a few times when the hours felt like too much.
