Lesser teams beat better teams all the time, it’s not unheard of at all.

The Miracle on Ice was a miracle because the US was NOT better than the USSR but pulled it off. Appalachian State beating Michigan in 2007 does NOT mean that Appalachian State was a better team, but they were better that day. The season that the Warriors went 73-9, half of their losses were to sub-0.500 teams and one of their losses was to the Lakers who ended up with an 17-65 record. There are tons of other examples that could be listed.

My point is, I think that Arizona is better than Utah, but it doesn’t take crazy mental gymnastics to say that the worse team beats the better team sometimes.
