I've been price comparing Costco and Walmart, specifically on food items
And almost always Walmart has been significantly cheaper.
Yet people line up like crazy to pay more for bulk items.

I think its difficult to save money at Costco. Buying in bulk leads to excess

plus how many of the bulk items go bad because you can't use them fast enough?

For smaller items we also go to Winco, the produce is only fair but for packaged

We go to Costco for quality, not price. We get most of our "doesn't matter" stuff at Walmart.

Walmart's free delivery subscription is just too good as my wife rarely goes

I have a Winco a few blocks from my house. Problem is they only have 90% of what we need.

I haven't found the quality of their produce better than most grocery stores.

You have to be selective about what you buy at Costco - eggs, protein shakes, gasoline, and a few others.

Do people think Costco is a good deal? It's not. It's more the entertainment

Buy ground beef at both and you will understand why people love Costco.

No one should ever buy red meat at Walmart.

Walmart has some of worst steak selection and prices I've ever seen.

We use Walmart+ once or twice a week but do not purchase produce or meat

We buy Costco on an assumption of quality. Walmart isn’t usually the right price comparison for that.

Genuinely curious, do you compare straight across? So Tillamook shredded cheddar

Costco is not about being the cheapest, its about being the best value. So while they may be beat by Walmart and Sams,
