They may be just as pathetic as those other fanbases 10-20 years down the road when some of their older fans pass on. USC's best route was always to be the dominate team in the West and pick up fans in places like Arizona, Utah, Nevada. But they didn't take that seriously enough. And That's the only semi-realistic scenario to being old USC again. It's not going to happen with California demographics. And kids in Wisconsin are not jumping on board as real fans just because you play in the Big 10.
