Both were fantastic
In Belize, My son and I stayed on a small island called Long Caye at Huracan Diving Lodge. It was only a 15-minute boat ride to the Blue Hole, and diving was just a minute or two away on Lighthouse Reef. It is off the grid if you don't mind that type of accommodation. They pick you up, and it is about a 2-3 hour boat ride to the island. No one lives there full time so it's very remote, but worth it. They will take you fishing and you can also spear Lionfish and the cook will prepare them for you. All of this plus food is included in the price that you pay. The food is amazing as well.

In the BVI's My wife and I chartered a sailboat owned by a British couple. He was a dive and sailing instructor and the wife cooked amazing food. I learned the basics of sailing from him and we dived as we sailed from island to island. The diving there was amazing as well as the snorkeling. This was before the hurricane came through years ago, but I'm sure it has recovered since then. Unfortunately, the couple retired and no longer charter.

In the end, I would highly recommend both places.
