Minnesota was 8-0, and nobody believed in them. Their OOC was weak (South Dakota State, Fresno State, and Georgia Southern) and their conference victories were all over Purdue, Illinois, Nebraska, Rutgers, and Maryland. The garbage of the Big 10.

But they were 8-0 and ranked #17. The very week of the first committee ranking, they beat #4 Penn State and vaulted all the way up to #8. And then lost 2 of their last 3 and ended up ranked….#18. The committee was right to doubt them.



None of that applies to BYU. BYU has a strong OOC win over a ranked SMU team and a strong victory over Kansas State, all evidenced by the very strong SOR.

TL;DR: BYU has nothing to worry about if they keep winning.
