That had less to do with any tendency BYU had to give up leads, and more to do
with 1. Whitt had long since shifted his focus and obsession to the PAC 12 and did not have his team hyped up or even ready for BYU at all while looking ahead to the PAC 12 title game and
2. BYU’s already thin defense losing more guys to injury and just flat out running out of gas.
Once Utah got the momentum and the crowd got into it BYU was just too gassed and didn’t have the horses to stop it.
I mean they probably still should have won, but still.
