players union will shut the league down before they let it happen. But it really sucks that the big market teams are there every year. MLB would be so much more enjoyable if every team could realistically build a contender to the extent they can in the NFL & NBA.

At least revenue-sharing creates a small window for small market teams, & it’s so inherently difficult for a team to outperform another even in a 5- or 7-game series that even the big-market teams are likely to stumble.
