A kid walk in front of his car in the middle of the night a few years ago. The kid broke his leg and some other minor injuries, but the cops and the kids father at the time assigned blame to the kid walking through the road in the middle of the night on an unlit road for the accident. Fast forward a few years and my buddy gets served by this kid for over $100,000 lawsuit. The kid lost but the point is people may feel one way at the time of the incident and change their mind later.
