I work in IT. I have been a data analyst, dba, sysadmin, and worked help desk way back in the day. I've watched people with doctorates degrees struggle to change the input on a tv. I've watched C level professionals who make 10 times more than me have to cancel meetings because even after we used Zoom for years, they still can't figure out that their mic is muted. The people who ask for reports from our data systems barely understand what they are asking for, much less what to put in an AI prompt to write something for them. I can shut down 9 dental clinics by pulling out single network cable 10 feet from my desk, and nobody here besides me and my team is qualified enough to figure out to fix it.

I have no fear, whatsoever, of my job being lost to AI.
