Obviously every fanbase wants to win the World Series, but at what point have you reached your pinnacle and anything beyond that is gravy.
Yankees. I think they have to win it all. If they had been able to play the Astros in the ALCS that might have changed my answer.
Tigers. Probably already there. They're playing with house money, though I expect them to win tomorrow and I'm sure they'll be disappointed if they don't.
Indians. Have to win tomorrow.
Mets. House money achieved with win over Phillies.
Padres. Definitely House money if they can win tonight.
Dodgers. I actually think tonight it becomes House money time. Yes, they would be playing the 5 seed next so they should expect to win and I'll be very disappointed if they don't. But they're playing a team the pundits all said was going to beat them (despite finishing 5 games ahead in the standings), they were down 2-1 without their 3rd best hitter and a bullpen game. Their 2 best starting pitchers this season are out, and one of their next 2 best is coming back from injury.
And they've lost 2 years in a row in the NLDS.
I don't think the season as a whole is a success if they lose to the Mets in the NLCS, but based on the right now, I think beating the Padres would be very satisfying and any future wins would be gravy.
