scholarships to give out. I don't know how BYU handled that, but I guess that means BYU is usually playing a few walkons and with so many injuries this season is playing a lot of walkons this season. Painful either way to be asked to leave the program, but less so when a scholarship is not being yanked. For some of these players there wasn't a scholarship to begin with.
I think the proposed rule after the NCAA settlement is that there can be up to 28 players on the roster but there can't be any walkons? I don't understand that - why if a school couldn't afford the 28 scholarships why a walkon spot couldn't be offered if the player is willing to accept that.
