e he gets them to call in sick at least once a week. He had to revise his employment manual / terms. Now they get a week of sick time and if they use those and call in sick they have to use PTO to get to 40 hours. Prior to that he just didn't have to pay them for 40 hours they just went with unpaid time.
Several of them HATED this and threatening to quit.
By all accounts he's super good to his employees and pretty chill but if you give an inch they try and take a mile.
