Yeah, the BYU Radio app, at least on Android, is weird.
It doesn't let the audio play if you shut off the screen. To compensate, it makes the screen all black, but if you happen to push the power button to activate the screen, you're actually shutting the screen off and it disconnects. It's stupid.
