They have 3 feet on either side of the direct line from base to base. I
admit it looked worse when I saw it, and I also admit I am a Dodger fan so I of course want them to cal him out.

Freddie was on his knee’s so he couldn’t move for a better angle and Manny knew this a ran on the inside of the lane.

Yes the announcers said it was a smart move, but that doesn’t make it legal. Announcers all the time make mistakes.

However as the Dodgers didn’t even question it and after looking at in on replay it was not way out of the way.

It usually comes more into play running to first when the catcher has the ball.

Props to Manny for a smart play, just frustration all around for a Dodger fan: Freddie hurt, ends up starting a huge rally, made worse by Rojas not tossing the ball for the out, etc.
