As someone in your friends/clients position. I'd really appreciate the heads up.
I just opened up 6 months ago so my staff is limited. But as I grow, and hire new staff, one thing I plan to tell my staff is. "I want you to become so valuable to me that I can't afford to lose you."

If I had just hired an office manager and was making plans and risks accordingly I imagine it would cripple me to have them leave after just a few months. I'd also like to know because if the office manager is great for me, I'd want to know why she is looking for a new job. If it's something I could fix I certainly would. But I also don't take things personally. My previous job, I kept telling the office manager to keep looking for better opportunities because her pay was low and she was under appreciated for how good she was.

also: major red flag that she didn't list her current employer. If the applicant got mad at me for telling her current employer that she had applied for another job I'd probably say. "it was a red flag for you to lie on the application, telling your boss was simply a business decision to keep my client happy"
