I got to play with one in Best Buy while I waited on the wife to do some shopping. I really liked it. Felt great in the hand, felt a lot faster than my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I have been a Google services power user since Gmail was in beta.
But then I remembered the Apple Watch Ultra on my wrist.
And the Airpods pro in my pocket.
And the 5 Homepods in my house.
And the Ipad Pro in my work bag.
And the Apple TV that my entire family loves and uses.
And the Macbook Air M1 that I fell in love with.
And the years of Apple Music data and algorithm that works great for me.
And the fact that everyone, even my extended family is on IOS and even with RCS, I would be the odd man out with group messages.
And the dozen Airtags I have and use because I lose my wallet or keys about once a week.
And the fact that my entire family uses iCloud photo sharing to share everything. We basically cut out social media because of it.
And I should feel happy about all that stuff, but I feel more trapped than anything.
