It looks like the third storm this season that originated in the Gulf of Mexico
Francine and Alberto also originated in a similar area of the gulf.
I'm not any type of hurricane expert, but I did find a storm tracker that showed the paths of all the named storms this season. 3/13 have started in the gulf now
