NIL will not change the amount of time and energy college athletes are allowed to put into practice and being coached. NFL players are coached and trained full time and are made up of only the best college talent.

The gap is too big to make comparisons like the one in the OP reasonable, even with NIL. You mentioned odds being 1/1000. What the announcers said in the OP was not 1/1000 type odds. They acted like they were on the level of a bad NFL team which is just not true.
