As to the model, I suspect NCAA rules would require it work like this:
I’m making this up, but here’s what I’d guess:
Can run with individual athletes on free train days, but not at “practices.”
Can entered meets unattached.
No “official” coach training.
No access to team medical, or at least no more than normal students.
Can’t go to team meetings once the season starts, but could during tryout periods.
I’m not sure about access to team facilities.
Thoughts?
