AZ is right there on the bubble. This win over BYU could push AZ to the right side of the bubble (and perhaps push BYU to wrong side of the bubble).
I wasn't wowed by them, but the game is about putting it in the back of the net. Both goals by AZ were really tremendous plays. That first one was obviously taking advantage of turnover in BYU's half but she was still going one on three and turned on the afterburners and made the nice move to burn our last defender back (Summers) and then shooting past Hernaez. Surprising that that was her first goal of the season for how fast and skillful she looked there.
BYU was close to having the individual spark, just didn't have enough. If Bailey's shot was 6 inches to the left it goes in instead of off the post.
I think that is NCAA women's soccer for us - that even the bubble type teams really aren't all that impressive compared to some of the terrific teams we have seen at BYU in previous years.
