To be fair, part of it is the assumption that an SEC team is going to eventually have
to face the other 1-loss/0-loss premium SEC/B1G teams and hence get a bit of a cushion to buffer for that eventuality.
Where I agree is if they take a pre-conference slate loss to one of teams from a 'lesser' league- they, at that point, show that the buffer for that team at least isn't warranted.
