A couple key takes from a recent On3 post (from 2 hours ago). NOTE: Staton has ONLY been to Michigan thus far for an official visit.

1) The two schools I continue to hear about regarding Xavion's recruitment are BYU and Michigan. A source close to the recruitment as consistently told me that BYU since they came into the picture, is the program they are watching the closest.

2) I am told by sources that BYU jumped in with both feet and they have let it be known that Staton is a top choice on their board. I am told that new head coach KY appreciates rim protection and sources tell me the staff feels that Staton is a top rim protector in the class.

3) Michigan has been a school that has publicly laid back in the cut for a good bit of this recruitment. However, I am told from sources that they have always prioritized Staton. While BYU may have a little momentum here, one source recently told me that they are watching how things progress with Michigan. The source said that the Wolverines have a good story to tell Staton, one that was well received.

4) UNLV is a dark horse for the recruitment and the recent football noise (the QB situation) has led to some questions.

5) No real mention of Stanford in the article other than the fact that they were one of the 4 finalists.
