Corn Pop Intervention Needed
I've found it to be the same as the old newspaper ads for private sales.
You have to do your own due diligence. Most people are not fully honest when it comes to selling used items, and it's been that way since the dawn of time. They want to sell their car, not chase you away, so they aren't going to tell you, "And it's got this wrong and that wrong and it rattles when you do this, and..."

But you're buying used. And if you're buying older, you have to know that older cars have issues. The only question is what kind of issues and whether they are issues you're either comfortable with or comfortable repairing. The seller might tell you some of the issues, but a lot more often than not they are not going to tell you all the issues. You have to look the car over and find them.
