Play-calling was fine. Maybe not the best I've ever seen, but it was fine.
It is funny that you point to the defense "bailing out" the offense with the interception at the end of the game, but don't mention the offense bailing out the defense by going on 3 long TD drives to get ahead by enough that when the defense started giving up TDs it didn't matter.
If anything, I suppose you could call out the offensive coaches for not having the players prepared to execute the game plan. So maybe you need to call out Fesi for not having Lassiter coached up and ready to catch those passes he dropped. Maybe call out Woods for the backup linemen who came in not being as good as the starters who went out injured.
This is all silly. BYU won the game. It wasn't their best game. It was one of their best 1st quarters. Similar to the 6 minutes of chaos in the 2nd and 3rd quarters against KSU. I'd love if they played like that for an entire game. But they didn't. They played pretty average at times, and still won. So keep working on getting more consistently good - and enjoy the win.
