I likewise noticed that it’s usually the lower wage employees that eat out for lunch and those making more bring
a lunch from home.
At my hospital, you can set up your work badge to be able to swipe it at the cafe and it deducts the cost from your paycheck. So many people do that but I discipline myself by never setting that up. Some people go there daily for coffee and breakfast sandwiches and then they’re disappointed at their paychecks.
