We did trains around Norway, Oslo, Bergen, drove up thorough the fjords, and then flew up to the Lofoten islands which was easily the highlight.
If you do a similar trip to that, Norway is better. If you just do the Norway in a nutshell trip where you do Oslo and a few days in the fjords, I’d go with Iceland. Black sand beaches, waterfalls, hot springs, etc.
Norway: better food, better cities, more culture, better mountains/fjords, often better weather
Iceland: more diverse geography, easy to travel to, stunning landscapes, feels like another planet
