Plea and abeyance…..
If the cop doesn’t show, yes you are off the hook but if shows up, ask for a P and A. You pay the fine, you may have to go to traffic school (now online) but if you keep your nose clean for 6-12 months it doesn’t go on your record and insurance never knows
