and let the other team come back.
But even considering just the Georgia/Alabama game and BYU/Baylor game, there’s a really big difference: quality of opposing coaches.
Kirby Smart is arguably the best coach in college football. He’s been Georgia’s head coach since 2016 and was Saban’s coordinator from 2008-2015. So he’s been coaching in the best conference in college football, either as the head man or under the GOAT, since 08.
While Alabama has similar coaching talent, DeBoer doesn’t have the same experience. When Smart became the head coach, DeBoer was the *offensive coordinator* at *Fresno State.* When Smart became the defensive coordinator, DeBoer was at Sioux Falls. DeBoer just doesn’t have the experience that Smart does. So naturally, Smart still has the upper hand.
Baylor’s coaching staff will be looking for new jobs in four months. Aranda has a losing record at Baylor, and aside from one good season, he’s been really bad.
To argue, “hey, Kirby Smart and Georgia came back, that means it’s ok that Aranda and Baylor came back” doesn’t add up.
