The Braves or Mets will be coming to San Diego, with the winner to LA. If we assume the split it will be the Braves.

So I think we want Sale not to need to pitch game 2 tomorrow, thus we want the Braves to win Game 1, so that Sale goes in Game 1 of the Wildcard.

Not only does that give the Braves a better chance of beating the Padres (which I think is a better result for the Dodgers), but it certainly increases the odds it at least goes 3 games.

If it does, we'd be looking at either of the following rotations in the NLDS:

Schwellenbach - Sale - Fried - Lopez - Schwellenbach

or

King - Cease - Musgrove - Darvish - King

(I assume Darvish is WC #3 Starter?)

Either way if it goes 3 we only have the 3 WC starters once each and it would be nice if Sale was one of those guys.... meaning the Braves need to win Game 1 tomorrow and save him for the WC.
