It is a real text, cited in the suit. Nobody here is anti-Baptist. I do think
its not wrong to acknowledge what actually happened, that it was terrible, and have some strong feelings towards Art Briles for it. I think most of the Baylor fanbase and admin were terribly saddened by the events and would not condone the things he did, either.

That aside, it wouldn't be right or fair to put that on the entire university, who is a great entity that has made the corrections and moved on. Individual coaches and leaders at universities make bad decisions, and sadly it probably happens everywhere, just not always made public like Baylor, Miami, Penn State, etc. When it happens at a faith-based institution in particular, it's all the more newsworthy because for some reason the world at large loves to catch Christians failing to be perfect.

Despite the quote being real, it didn't really need to get brought up in this way, and the sentiment of the post certainly isn't reflective of overall sentiment in BYU land towards Baylor as an institution, and the Baptist faith. I can assure you BYU considers Baylor to be friends, and the LDS Church thinks highly of and supports the Baptist Church.... none of that should be in question.

I, for one, am a Baylor fan every day they're not playing BYU!
