while not yet a blue blood by traditional definition certainly has blue blood resources now, is now a member of the most competitive conference, and has as much of a home court and crowd advantage as any one else out there. BYU may not have the pedigree and history of places like UK, Duke, UNC, and KU...but as of now, they are looking to be every bit as big time as those schools going forward.
BYU may well be on course to essentially be Duke of the West for basketball. Private school, Royal Blue and White for school colors, and now we have our own "Coach K" (Coach Kevin). And he's already recruiting like Coach K at Duke was able to. And as Duke has been an NBA pipeline for players with NBA potential, so now is BYU quickly in the process of becoming.
Duke's Coach K was a lifer at Duke. I think our own Coach K may be set to be a lifer here at BYU.
