To those who know a lot about football: why does Arod prefer on 3rd & short

or 4th and short to keep the QB in shotgun formation rather than put the QB under center, where the QB can run a sneak or hand off to a RB on a dive play or fake a run and do whatever. I would rather put the QB closer to the 1st down line.

Serious answers please.
