a 60 year old woman. And when he does control the knife, he probably shouldn't need to stab her dead, especially if it's his mother. If all he had were cuts to his hand, I think we can assume he was in a decent position in the fight. Either he just flatout instigated it and stabbed her and it was never about him defending himself.... or he was in a good position where all he had to do was put his hands in the way to stop her if she was coming after him.
