losing it a little bit. His fandom and emotion is starting to get in the way of real job of play by play. Wyoming game he was lamenting why they weren't waiting for the clock to go down before snapping the call when he starts complaining why the clock is not running after an incomplete pass. Takes longer to identify players and make more mistakes than he used to.
Peak Greg was about 10 years ago, one of the best around and he oft had to carry Lyons who brought little by way of analysis. But those days are over and he now crosses over too much into game analysis which is not his job and oftimes too much for the listener. A little bit of ego when breaking in new color analysts the last couple of years. Trust them, Riley and Hans are good at what they do. I need less Greg and more Hans in the broadcasts.
That being said I love Greg and the passion he has, this is a non emotional objective analysis of the job of PbP and where he currently is.
