My only complaint about him early on is that he would get so excited about a big play that he stumbled over his words and you had no idea what the heck was going on. And - for better or worse - he was excited like that whether it was a good play for BYU or for their opponent. So you had to try to guess based on the location of the game and corresponding crowd noise, or wait until after the play for him to revisit it and tell you what happened.
Honestly - I loved that about him. The excitement he had for a good play. It was just a little maddening at times trying to figure out what had happened.
