He earned the right to hall good and bad about BYU, without his “True Blue” loyalty being questioned. His friend, BYU team , Kyle Whittingham, along with his coaching at Utah, BANNED him from attending Utah practices, because they were worried he would tell Bronco about their schemes and plays.It took several years before they finally saw that he was there as a media analyst.
He played and put blood, sweat, and tears in that field, and even more on the practice facility. He is a radio and television personality, who previously, was paid by both the old 1320 and 1280, to give an unbiased assessment of each university in the state, which required him to be complimentary and critical, at times, of BYU, Utah, Utah State, Weber State, SUU, and Utah Tech/Dixie. The man has ties to literally every university, with major ties to Utah State, BYU, and Utah. He had multiple teammates coaching/or have coached at Utah, including Sitake, and is going to be happy for them when they succeed on and off the field.
Nothing had changed about the way he talks about BYU. The only thing different is that now he is paid to be a KSL Play by Play and Commentator, and those who were previously critical, are actually forced to listen to him if they want to listen to the game, and are not just hearing what they want to hear and disregarding the rest.
