New Mexico hasn't had a Sweet 16 in more than half a century.
UNLV's last Sweet 16 was more than 15 years ago.
Those are pretty small banners.
The MWC was a solid basketball conference that only had one school (SDSU) over the past 15 years that was capable of making noise at the national level. The MWC just lost that school.
