Skeptical Optimist Intervention Needed
A couple of observations on the punt return
- Besides Kingston, Glasker was obviously was the star on that play. His block on the 5 yard line against 48 sprung the play wide open, and then he was with the train the rest of the way
- Kingston's speed going lateral opened up a lot - several KSU players ran into each other trying to react. Plus outrunning the attempted shoestring tackle by 18 as he picked up the ball.
- 57 kept up with Kingston most of the run but never had and angle or got close enough to make a tackle
- The other block that made it possible was (I think) Jakob Robinson at the 50 from one of the upbacks that was waiting to make the tackle
- Jack Kelly then did enough to get in #18's way the rest of the return (18 dove at 5 and hustled back into the play)
- Amazing that there wasn't any holding or illegal blocks - watching the replay you can see how intentional they were at blocking to keep the flags from getting thrown. Great coaching from K-Pop.

A favorite part of the punt return lore is: Robinson, Kelly, Glasker. (oxcoug, Sep 23, 2024 at 9:56am)
