to changes. Let's compare what the Pac 12 did vs what the Big 12.
Big 12:
1. The report leaked Texas and Oklahoma were leaving on July 21, 2021. Less than two months later on September 10, 2021 they announce the addition of four new schools and stabilize the conference.
2. Big 12 (Yormark) opens up negotiation for TV deal earlier than anticipated and quickly strikes a new deal with current partners ESPN and FOX.
Pac 12:
1. Had the opportunity to accept some or all of the remaining Big 12 and end the Big 12, ensuring their survival. They pass.
2. June 30, 2022 they find out UCLA and USC are leaving. They take their time to decide to not expand though they considered SDSU, SMU and maybe some others.
3. The Pac 12 opens up negotiation for TV deal and turn down ESPN and FOX offer to go to the open market. They never get a better offer and the only way to get somewhat close is to go exclusively to a streamer and they take a whole year to finally even present an offer.
Their arrogance and hubris was likely what caused them to be so slow and resistant to things changing around them. They thought they could do things the way they'd always done them and that they'd get what they wanted.
